John Wright
Director of Learning
John has been a member of the Australian PGA since 2007. Original located on the Sunshine Coast at the Peregian Springs Golf Club from 2003, John moved to Victoria to be Club Professional at the Bairnsdale Golf Club from 2007 to 2010. John quickly found his passion for teaching whilst at Bairnsdale after spending a few hours with renowned USA PGA Tour Player/Short Game Coach Stan Utley in 2008. John’s words were “what Stan showed me in 2 hours blew my mind away with the short game”. His coaching skills developed quickly via Stan and the PGA ACE Program offered to members of the PGA. From 2010 John took on the role as Club Professional at the beautiful Yamba Golf & Country Club in Northern NSW. He spent 11 ½ year in Yamba developing further his coaching/teaching skills. John was regularly booked out for one-on-one lessons and conducted up to 5 clinics per week. John attributes the knowledge he has learned from numerous world-renowned coaches to his success as a teacher. He classes Mike Adams World Golf Hall of Fame Teacher as his mentor and UK Professional Terry Rowles another. John believes if golfers, were to just ask a quick question about any part of their game, to him or our coaches at Queensland Golf Performance Centre they would learn a lot. He encourages all golfers to utilise our skills if only for a 5-minute chat.
